Overview

This index lists Places by location, and in the U.S.A., that means by State. This page contains a text list of States, with an alphabetical list of Places within that State. (The exception is Utah, which is split into two pages due to its size.)

Clicking on the tabs above will take you directly to a State Page, which may or may not contain more than one state.

State Pages all have maps of the state, my routes through the state, links to Place pages, and images that don't have a Place Page.

So here are the rules:

• This page contains an alphabetical list of States (which links to that state's State Page), with a list of all the Place Pages within that State. If a link is in italics, the images are not on their own page, but a related page.)
• If a Place is in more than one state, it will be listed in all the states it resides in, but all the links will lead to the same Place page. (I generally try to identify multi-state Places.)
• Place pages live under Places by Type. (For instance, Yellowstone's home is in National Parks), so clicking on that link will seemingly change your entry point from By State to By Type. I have tried to include a link back to all places the page could been called from at the bottom of the page.
• All maps on the State Pages are sourced from nationalatlas.gov in 2015, courtesy of the US Government. The maps may be updated at any time, especially with the new census data.
