Just before Expedition Everest opened right next door, Tarzan Rocks was retired, the theater got walls, and Finding Nemo -- The Musical became a fixture there.
Nemo is a spectacular stage show, with outstanding set pieces, interesting costumes... But I don't care for it. One of the big problems I have with the 40 minute long show, is if you haven't seen the Pixar movie Finding Nemo, the stage show makes no sense. Another, is I'm not particularly thrilled with the score, which in a musical...

Parades
See my Animal Kingdom video page for links to Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade and Mickey's Jingle Jungle Parade video.Mickey's Jungle Jammin' Parade
Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade is the daily parade held in Animal Kingdom since the Hundred Years of Magic Celebration in late 2001. I've always thought this show was sort of the spiritual successor to Tapestry of Nations, with Disney characters. (Disney ruined Tapestry of Nations for the Hundred Years celebration by transforming it into Tapestry of Dreams, but I digressStill it has some catchy tunes and dancing Cast Members and Floats. It's worth seeing, if you like Disney parades. But it's also worth noting very little has changed in the intervening years, so if you saw this parade 10 years ago, you'll be seeing the same parade today.

Here's another set of photos from the parade I saw in 2011.

Animal Kingdom's Christmas Tree
Here's the AK Christmas Tree, put up by the entrance to the park every Christmas Season. According to Event Services, the major trees are changed out about every five years.Animal Kingdom doesn't do much for Christmas, probably because it's mainly a daytime park, and isn't as well developed as the other three parks. Animal Kingdom does have a Christmas overlay on their parade, but I don't think I've seen it...

Final thoughts on Animal Kingdom
The only picture I have of the lagoon in front of Everest is when it was still under construction. sigh... |
We also have to face the fact that even though AK is the largest acreage park at the World, it also has the fewest attractions, and even fewer after the sun sets. Africa (and Rafiki's Planet Watch) completely close after dark. So do the animal trails in Asia. The main area open at night (when they are open at night) goes from Kali River Rapids to Dinoland.
Disney really has to make Animal Kingdom a night park. (Disney really needs another gate, period, but I digress.) Obviously Beastly Kingdom isn't going to happen (Expedition Everest might be the closest we get to it), and there are rumors of putting "Pocahontas in Blue" into the available land there. But what's needed are more night-time attractions and a night-time show like all the other parks.
Personally, I think a modified version of World of Color could go into the lagoon in front of Everest. It's already been confirmed that there are fireworks launch platforms on Everest, and some government agency or another has signed off saying low explosion fireworks (read Disney's air cannon tech) won't affect the animals. Think of what you could do dancing water fountains, water screens/projections, with pyrotechnics off the lagoon and the mountain...
