Autographed Christmas Card

Christmas comes to Keane's house...
The Disney Company's 1968 Christmas Card |
But this evening, I think I had the titular D23 experience. And it came via my mailbox.
But let's back up a little.
In December 2014, D23 held the D23 Days of Christmas, where every day (as a countdown to Christmas), they would post some sort of sweepstakes, recipes, or stuff from the archives like concept art, unreleased music, Walt's personal Christmas lists and Christmas card recipients, etc. They posted some very cool stuff, but Day 12 was outstanding.
They would send 23 lucky D23 Gold Members a Christmas card. It had the artwork used for the Walt Disney Company Christmas card in 1968. But what was special was inside.
Each card would be signed by (clockwise from top left):
- Adam Sanderson, Head of D23
- Don Hahn, producer of Maleficent, Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion King
- Becky Cline, Director of the Walt Disney Archives
- Bob Gurr, Disney Legend
- Dan Povenmire, co-creator and executive producer of Phineas and Ferb
- Jeff "Swampy" Marsh, co-creator and executive producer of Phineas and Ferb
- Marty Sklar, Disney Legend
- Mark Henn, Disney Animator
- Dave Smith, Disney Legend
Until today. In my mailbox was a envelope from D23. My initial thought was D23 mailed a Christmas card to all the members. But my address was hand written, and there was a meter stamp, not bulk-mailed.
I opened it up, and exclaimed a couple of not-very-family-friendly words...
I think this frame will find some wall space...
Thanks D23! You made my Christmas! (The rest of the holiday might be a bit anti-climatic now. ;-) )
