These are miscellaneous 35mm pictures from a couple of decades ago, some date back close to 50 years.
Most are from a cheap point and shoot camera that I kept in the glove compartment of the car, precisely for those time that you see an interesting situation, weather condition, or unusual event.
I realize that many of the scans here could be cleaned up. Maybe
one day, but it's not in my top ten priorities right now...
Atmospheric events...
Atmospheric events are just odd cloud or weather formations that you don't generally see on a daily basis. I've probably got dozens of sunrise shots over the lake, but in the end, they're just sunrise shots over the lake...Accidents
You've seen 'em, and passed by 'em and possibly even gawked at 'em. I'm just thankful I'm not in any of 'em...Odds and ends
Snow!
Snow is a four letter word. That said, look that phrase up on YouTube for the song...These are some pictures from the Feb 1, 2011 Chicago Snow Storm. The snow started at 3pm, Feb 1, and stopped 36 hours later. Comments are on the picture pages.

Not Chicago (but close)
A friend's sister's boyfriend flew a plane. Got an opportunity to fly with him and takesome pictures in some remote town...Bald Hornets
Imagine waking up one day and finding out a tumor is growing on the side of your building. An internet search showed these were Bald Hornets. They live a year, the queen lays its eggs in the ground in the fall, the hornets all die and the nest is essentially abandoned. When they build a nest on, say a tree, it's round like a pinecone. You then take the nest after the hornets have died, shellac it, and it's supposed to be beautiful. Unfortunately, since they built their nest on the side of the building, it would fall apart when taken off.
Had I known they were going to build a nest on the window of a room I use as a storeroom, I would have cleaned the glass. :-) It was fascinating watching them build the layers, the different striations from the type of material they used. And they'd pose as they were cooling the nest...
Maxima pictures
I was taking pictures of my car to use as a signature pic. I normally wouldn't put them here, but they're the only pics I have of the Chicago Skyline...- 12/30/2012 - Update page (not pictures) to v3.1
- 08/29/2014 - Update to v3.2
